Job Description:

One of Northern New York's top hospitals is seeking an experienced Emergency Services Director to join their team! This full-time role is primarily a day shift position and offers a competitive annual salary.
The Emergency Services Director will be responsible for the management of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical surgical aides, and clerical support in the Emergency Department (ED). This role involves collaboration with nursing leadership, physicians, and ancillary departments to implement and evaluate services, programs, and activities for continuous performance improvement. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations, professional nursing practice, supervision of acute nursing units, hiring and firing of nursing personnel, conducting employee evaluations, orientation of new employees, marketing of services, and performance improvement activities. The Emergency Services Director also manages the cost center budget for the department.
What will make you stand out?

• 
  
• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma
  
• Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with an Associate's degree in Nursing, BSN preferred
  
• Two (2) to five (5) years experience as a nursing leader in the area assigned with experience in direct clinical supervision.

  • Current BLS and ACLS recertification
    
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
    
  • CEN preferred or must be obtained within one year of appointment
